MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE

Notes and scales

Identification and memorization of the notes of the flamenco songs. Knowledge and mastery of scales.
Major scale.
Minor scale.
Phrygian scale.
Modulations between major-minor-Phrygian tonality. Correct intonation.
Transcription of the songs of the repertoire (optional).

Basic harmony

Harmony of the 3 scales.
Flamenco tones: above, through, through granaina, through taranta, minor in A, minor in E, Major in A, Do and Mi.

Vocal resources

Identification and practice.
Effects: jipío and bebeo
Attacks blown
Vibratos: marked
Application of flamenco vocal resources to melodies. Combination of all flamenco vocal resources.

CROSS-CUTTING OBJECTIVES

Understanding of the elements of flamenco phrasing.
Practical bases for a healthy and efficient vocal technique.

METHODOLOGY

Alba Guerrero method for studying and memorizing the songs of the repertoire. The practice of the 3 scales.
Scale combinations.
Identification, transcription, and memorization of the notes of a letter in the context of the scale. Recognition of the different degrees.

Complimentary exercise

Analysis of the main notes and personal variations in a cante. One exercise for each suit comparing two versions.
